Sightings of sick wildlife are on the rise in the Greater Boston Area–many having died from the ingestion of rodents that fed on Second-Generation Anticoagulant Rodenticides (SGARs) bait. EwA, in collaboration with the Friends of Horn Pond, developed a documentation process to help. The EwA SGARs Brigade is now up and running! This tutorial focuses on documenting bait devices and sick/dead animals likely victims of SGARs in the Greater Boston Area. The project is part of an effort to raise awareness about the intersection of rodent populations, SGARs use, and their impact on wildlife. The project provides open-access, evidence-based tools for communities to understand the spread and impact of SGARs and act accordingly (e.g., advocacy and policy-making).
The tutorial will happen on Zoom, the 01/11/2024 from 5:30 p.m. (1.5 hr). If you'd like to attend, please register (free) at 🎟️ https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZYsfumoqD8vEtTHZuo-ob6gxnV_xyHYYvjZ#/registration. Space is limited, so please confirm your attendance as soon as possible.
We look forward to seeing you at the tutorial and learning from your experiences. Together, we can make a difference for the health and well-being of our wildlife and our communities.
