The Festival keeps getting better! We're continuing to sign up new business sponsors and participating organizations.
Here's a taste of what's planned for Saturday, April 25, at Harriet Beecher Stowe, rain or shine:
The pop-up farmers market will start at 9 am, before doors open for the Festival.
At 10, doors open. We'll have dozens of exhibits indoors in the gym and outdoors on the blue top. Get your scavenger hunt card to explore the whole Festival, from the electric vehicle show and tell, to the talks in the cafeteria, to the exhibit hall in the gym, to the school greenhouse and garden, to the outdoor exhibits on the blue top playground, to the musician's pavilion, and to the wheelbarrow races on the sidelines of Stowe Field. We'll have something for everyone, including food trucks in front of the school all day long.
10:30 is the All Species Parade: dress up as your favorite creature and follow the marching band! The first 200 people who pre-register and come to the parade will get a $10 gift certificate to Wild Oats Bakery & Cafe.
11:30 is a pair of Nature Hikes: the hike for grown ups will explore the Bowdoin Pines and the hike for kids and the young at heart will go play in Mare Brook near the junior high school.
1:00 is a family bike ride: join this fun ride at a leisurely pace to explore Brunswick on bicycle
2:30 are the finals for the wheelbarrow races: all day long people who help spread mulch in the school garden will get a ticket to compete in the time trials for the wheelbarrow races. The fastest times will get to compete in the finals for prizes (including a yard of compost from Garbage to Garden) and everlasting glory!
Doors close at 3 pm until next year's Festival on Saturday, April 24, 2027.
All of this is made possible thanks to our sponsors, including Androscoggin Bank, Wild Oats, Lee Auto Malls, Mere Point Oyster Co, The Cryer, First Light Energy, Maine Solar Solutions, Sentient Digital, and many more! For the full list, please visit
www.EarthDayInBrunswick.com and see the Goods & Services section of our Earth Day Every Day Resource Guide for Brunswick & Beyond. More about that Resource Guide in our next email!
Hope you are all enjoying spring. See you at an info session or at the Festival!
