Recovering from Racial Biases

A New Class Offering

This 8 week course will examine the racial biases that hold power over our individual and collective lives. We will explore the roots of our racial biases--they are both personal and public, individual and social. Racial Bias lives inside of us and our country, and we use it to construct our systems and our institutions everyday. Until we can understand the racial biases which make up our institutions, we can never be an anti-racist society. We will examine our racial biases through short readings, group discussions and activities. By looking deeper into our own biases and the biases of our society, we can learn how to live in opposition to systems and structures that reinforce racial bias and recover from racial bias as it appears within ourselves.

The class will meet at Recovery Café:

Every Thursday from 7:00PM to 8:15PM

September 29 through November 17th.

This class will be facilitated by:

Rev. John B. Stean, Pastor of Ebenezer AME Zion Church

Rev. Jean Adler Stean, M.Div.

K. Killian Noe, Founding Director, Recovery Café.

The course is being offered gratis by Ebenezer AME Zion Church and Recovery Café.

There is no fee for participation.
