In addition to Crew Leaders and Volunteer Specialists, EarthCorps is currently seeking a Field Specialist for 2017. If you know anyone who may be a great fit, including yourself, I encourage you to apply. The application deadline is nearing (Monday, August 8, 2016) so act quickly if you are interested. Since this is a relatively new position at EarthCorps, here is some additional information:
The Field Specialist is a year-long (early-January through mid-December) AmeriCorps position at EarthCorps. This position works closely with the Field staff, including Project Managers, to support many of the processes necessary to implement our restoration projects. The Field Specialist sometimes works as a crew leader, project assistant, and/or logistics assistant as well.
To be successful, the Field Specialist needs to have a solid grasp on best management practices within the field of environmental restoration in this region as well as a desire to learn about the planning and administration side of project management. Organization, time management, and flexibility are assets in this position. Often times being a bridge between Project Managers and Crew Leaders, the Field specialist also has opportunities to support crews in the field, to teach, and to lead by example in ways that others sometimes aren’t able.
