Greetings Google Earth Community,

I looked for the History category in Google Earth Voyager Stories today and did not see it. Here is a screen capture of a video I made in October 2018:

And what it looks like today:

Are there plans to bring History back? Any information any has about this is much appreciated. Thank you.

Best,
Tom

Hi Tom,

Thanks for creating this video! I know it can be totally frustrating when an interface changes and things are no longer organized in the same way. I've contacted the Voyager team, who have confirmed that in a effort to refresh the landing page swapped the "History" tab for "Street View," with no current plans to bring the "History" tab back. You'll notice some of the stories from that tab (such as the Underground Railroad example) are now nestled under "Education."

The good news is that Voyager content never leaves the site, so all of those stories in the "History" tab are still available on the web (albeit, not as easily accessible.) You can always search for Voyager stories by using keywords, typing in the same search bar you use for places. You'll notice the first handful of results are location-based, but lower down it will search for Voyager stories with the keyword in the title/text body. (See screenshot below)

It doesn't solve for the search / interface challenge, but below I've linked a quick list of history-themed stories and quizzes.
Finally, the content team is always open to user feedback, so thank you for bringing this up! The more they're aware of the features that matter to people, the better job they can do.

Thank you for your reply. While I hope the History category returns I do appreciate your taking the time to curate and list the good history stories. I will share with my colleagues!
