Custom Driving Map

I am trying to make a multi-day, custom driving map in My Maps. Te Directions links will provide the quickest route, but when I drag the blue line to make custom routes, I have a hard time making them stay when I add more legs to the route. Any tips for making a multi-day custom riving map in MyMaps?

One idea could be to make each day a different layer. This could help your project

Thank you, Steve. - I did make each day a separate layer. The problem is that once I created a new  "leg" of a drive, the prior leg would update to the "better" route. I suppose I could put each drive segment on a separate layer.
