Hi everyone!

My name is Bill Belsey. I currently teach 24 boys and girls who are in my grade 5&6 combined class in Cochrane, Alberta, Canada.

Like many of you, our school was closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic and my colleagues and I are doing our best to support our students via remote learning.

We are currently on our "Easter/Spring Break". We noticed that our students were beginning to become sadder when we met online. So, in order to cheer them up, my colleagues and I are going to stage a very small "parade" and drive by their houses with our cars decorated with balloons, signs saying "We miss you!" etc.

So, with that as our backstory, we want to find a way to use a list of our students home addresses to plan the most efficient route in order to see them all, from a safe distance of course. We wondered what would be the best and most efficient way to plan our "Parade" route using Google Maps to some other mapping tool?

Any/all suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated!

Sincerely,

Bill Belsey

You may want to reach out to your local waste management.  They have specialized software that helps them plan collection routes.  Might be a privacy issue so check with your admin before giving out addresses.

Hi Jason,

FYI, no one will see our students' addresses beyond their homeroom teachers, like me.

We will ensure that whatever means we use to facilitate our "Parade" are private.

Thanks,

Bill

I don't think Google Maps does this as well as Mapquest. You can put in multiple stops in Google Maps, but its directions are in the order you input them. Mapquest gives you the option to for it to re-order stops.

We use this for are beginning of the year to welcome-walk...more like a welcome drive, but the idea is the same.
