Google Earth-based game?

Hello,

 

Is it possible to develop a 3-D game around Google Earth? I'm thinking of the street level video of real buildings and even shots of people. I know movement along streets is limited and a little more flexible in intersections. But maybe access to the API, etc., would allow for more flexibility of game movement.

 

I am not a programmer or game developer. I'm looking for feedback as to whether such a game is possible and feasible, and what the pro's and con's of such a game would be. Another question... Would it be possible for two or more gamers to play against each other over the Internet?

 

Also, would Google frown on such a game or welcome it?

I'm not sure about the feasibility of street-view based games but regular earth view type games are definitely possible:
