Just wanted to introduce myself and where I fit in ...

My paternal grandmother was Jemima Paisley Earsman [27M] so I'm from
the Moffat Branch.

I've only just started looking into the family history and was lucky
enough to receive a copy of the family tree document prepared in the
60s from one of the granddaughters of William Paisley Earsman [20M].

It's been fascinating reading what you have already found out ...

Hey Mike. Great to hear from you! Yeah my brother Barry and I actually went to Moffatt in 97. We found the oldest grave ever of an Earsman there!
Have you checked out Earsman.com? We have got a few little bits up, a family tree fragment, and maybe some pics. If not, let me know and I'll send you a photo of the gravesite. We saw quite a few Earsman graves there.
Look forward to hearing from you soon.

Good to hear from you too Travis!

It's funny that I had never really realised the importance of Moffat in
my family. It's somewhere we always stop at on our way North, and I
knew there was some family connection with the town, but it wasn't
until talking with my Dad that I realised its importance ... no
surprise that I have always felt at home staying there!

I haven't been on a 'mission' there yet to see the gravestones etc, but
hope to in the near future.I have visited earsman.com and was really
taken aback to see the copies of the documents my Dad had given me just
a few days earlier!

I was also really surprised to find the connections between the
Lockerbie Branch and Liverpool, the city I now call home.

Hi Mike, welcome to the list. The earsman.com website is fairly non-existent at the moment, but sometime in the next few months I hope to make time to get a fully fledged site up and running, with genealogical data,  image galleries, forums, blogs...the whole shebang. Stay tuned!

The grave of James Ershman is in the churchyard at Wamphrey-Newton, just near Moffet. It took us over an hour to find as it was totally covered in moss.
