After the second time it happened I started copying the flight plan to sec flight plan before takeoff, as a work around. It is then easy to activate secondary flight plan if this occurs. However, I have not experienced this recently at all. I did wonder if it was happening if I retracted the undercarriage too quickly after takeoff. I tend to delay that a bit now until I have a very definite positive rate of climb (and the fenix app has had a chance to recognise that I have a positive rate of climb!)
I have not confirmed it but tried 2 or so flights after having this repeated issue while delaying bringing the gear up. Seems to be working fine after. Try bringing the gear up at least 5 seconds after positive climb and see if it works.
Oh my goodness this is what I have been experiencing. I have no idea how to do a secondary flight plan it did it when I was departing from KDAL / KTUL , And also did it when I departed KSAN / KLAS . Maybe we should record a video and share it on fnix discord
Maybe check for unwanted bindings, as if you have something mapped to a command that would somehow reset the mcdu, the flight plan will disappear and you accidentally or deliberately move it at around take off, then that might explain it.
For example, if your landing gear lever is mapped to not just the command(s\ that controls the landing gear, but also to a switch that breaks the power to the mcdu, then the mcdu would be reset and the flight plan would disappear.
Actually, xbox controllers can be pretty risky, as MSFS maps default bindings and it can be pretty easy to accidentally press a button. I left mine upside down on my desk and was amazed by my aircraft steering itself in all sorts of random directions.
I have been meaning to make a comment in one of these posts for ages now. Every post i see about huge discounts on garmin watches are nothing but lies. Since i bought my fenix 7 saphire solar like 2 years ago for $999 that has been the price for that configuration. All of the other configurations that doesnt include saphire solar has always been $599-$699. So please tell me where the huge discount lies because i dont see it. I really like your videos but i really dislike posts like this.
Usually this is following an update and the watch needs rebooting. Sometimes when you turn it off it hangs and comes back on rather than reboot so you may need to hold the power button in until it switches off. This will reboot without resetting settings.
I know this post is from a while ago, so you might not see this, but he has the link above to his article from December with thoughts on the watch updates. His prediction is between June and August for the next gen it looks like
