Help us make San Diego County a better cycling community   Bicycle Path Clean Up June 5, 2010 (This Saturday) at 9 am 4835 Pacific Coast Highway San Diego Ca 92110 The San Diego Bicycle Coalition has adopted the Ocean Beach Bike path from Pacific Coast Highway to Little Padres Park in Mission Valley. We are looking for volunteers to help us in keeping our bike paths in San Diego County clean. Our Next Clean up is: June 5th at 9 am Meet at the start of the Pacific Coast Highway entrance of the Ocean Beach Bike Path. Where the address above indicates.

Driving School For Bicycles June 8, 2010(Tuesday)-6:30 pm @San Diego County Bicycle Coalition Offices 740 13th Street Suite 502 San Diego Ca 92101 This is a course for those want to feel more comfortable riding on city streets and bike paths. Class will cover the basics for how to choose the right bike and properly fit a helmet. Learn tips for the safest ways to ride in traffic, techniques to avoid or deal with road hazards and emergency maneuvers along with other useful gems of knowledge, like the best way to lock up your bike and how to use a bike in combination with public transit, and cyclists' legal rights and responsibilities. Also, the instructors are kind enough to add in information regarding bike maintenance, adjustments, minor repairs and quick fixes.  The course takes place both in class and on the road lead by a league of American Cyclist Certified Instructor.

Ride and Learn: Saturday June 26, 2010 @9:00 am Meet in front of the Start of India Maritime Museum 1492 North Harbor Dr. San Diego Ca 92101 Once a month we offer a fun ride in a scenic part of San Diego County. Part learning experience, part coffee jaunt, these rides welcome all riders, but are geared for beginners. If you would like an introduction to road riding, riding in a group, or just a nice morning out with some fun bicyclists, this is a ride for you. The rides are typically 8-10 miles, flat, and we do it at a pace that encourages talking and interaction (somewhere around 8-12 mph average, depending on the group). We talk a lot, stop a lot, and usually eat or at least bring doughnuts, while getting information about riding in various situations. No registration required, just show up and ride!
