Dear colleagues,

We are editing the Special issue on “Punitiveness in Law and Economics” at the European Journal of Law and Economics (https://link.springer.com/collections/hddejhcfji). If you are interested, we would be delighted to discuss possible paper ideas.

The aim of the special issue is to explore the multifaceted role of punitiveness across law and economics. We invite submissions that extend the analysis of punitive attitudes across domains of law and economics. We welcome both theoretical and empirical contributions, as well as interdisciplinary approaches connecting economics, law, criminology, psychology, and political science. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to the economics analysis of crime, corporate governance, environmental law, labor and workplace regulation, consumer protection and product liability, intellectual property, comparative perspectives, modelling and measurement, and interactions with policy tools.

Manuscripts should be submitted via the European Journal of Law and Economics submission system, indicating consideration for the special issue “Punitiveness in Law and Economics.” All submissions will undergo the journal’s standard double-blind peer review process. We aim for a publication in February 2027.

Please feel free to forward this invitation to any colleagues or collaborators who may also be interested.

Thank you very much for your time and consideration.

Warm regards,

Béatrice Boulu-Reshef and Constance Monnier-Schlumberger
