Dear Colleagues,
Following the DfE’s announcement of EAL grading as part of the School Census data, NASSEA has developed cross-referencing guidance to help schools and practitioners to align their NASSEA EAL assessment with the broad code
bands used by the DfE. This will be included in all future training on the NASSEA EAL Assessment Framework. Details on CPD below:
The new NASSEA EAL Assessment Framework is proving popular with schools and we are running a series of CPD events to support schools and practitioners in using the framework effectively.
The EAL Assessment Framework has descriptors and guidance for use with EAL learners from Foundation Stage to KS4. It has been extensively trialled in schools across the country prior to publication and it will soon be available as
part of Target Tracker. The second print run is now available and the cost of the CPD includes a copy of the EAL Assessment Framework booklet with CD Rom.
The CPD session will include:
Using the NASSEA EAL assessment framework to assess EAL learners at different stages
Using the NASSEA EAL assessment framework to track and demonstrate progress across the school
Promoting progress through the NASSEA EAL assessment framework
Aligning your NASSEA EAL assessment data with the DfE codeset
Best wishes,
Melanie
