Hi everyone

I will be contributing to some CPD around EAL pupils in EYFS and wondered if anyone had any good suggestions on reading material, experiences, programmes and so on for me to research/reference and share with colleagues? Does the new framework impact on EAL at all? I am not early years trained so have my work cut out!

Many thanks,

Jo

We have an EYFS section on our website where the emphasis is on scaffolding purposeful and creative talk around storybooks. Settings that are sound for EY children are likewise empowering for EAL learners. Our ever continuing work is creating similar EAL friendly settings for older pupils. In many cases their independence and confidence is undermined by settings where teachers and targets are driving learning.
Optimistically yours,
Stuart
