I am running a workshop with Valerie Coultas and the NATE annual conference on July 1st in Kingston
as part of the NATE multicultural and diversity working group. We met last night zoomily to plan and want to include a practical activity around a story book frequently used as a 'set text'  in top junior lower secondary classrooms. The activity will be like the ones on CLP website
designed to promote engagement and playful purposeful chat around the topics in a book so that children new to English will be included in the lesson to a greater degree. I would be grateful if colleagues, currently teaching those years, could suggest titles of books frequently and commonly used to be worked on for this collaborative activity. I am going to. post this on EAL coordinators facebook page too.
If by any chance you have been busy doing likewise please share your results!
