Competition for Arabic and Polish speakers

The Stephen Spender Trust is working with Oxford University on a lovely competition for speakers/learners of Arabic, Polish, Spanish and French. 

Please do encourage your students to get involved! It's open until 1 March 2022.

Prismatic Jane Eyre translation competition from University of Oxford and Stephen Spender Trust

• A celebration of all languages spoken in homes and taught in schools across the UK.
• Students in KS3-5 / S1-6 invited to translate selected passages from Jane Eyre into a poem in any other language.
• Up to 100 winners will be published in a print/online anthology. 
• General resources and language-specific resources for Arabic, French, Polish, Spanish available for teachers and for independent study. 
• The competition is not designed to be a test of grammar or vocabulary, but how students can reimagine the selected passage from Jane Eyre in a different language and through a new form. See competition details for competition passages.  
• Deadline: 1 March 2022. 
• Register interest via online form (no obligation to run competition; prospective entrants may also register interest).
