Dear Brian
I was in Gillespie Park on Sunday!!! but the Ecology Centre was closed. (We went afterwards to Farang (Thai) restaurant. They say it is the best Thai food in London!)
I will definitely visit your exhibition - please send me the address.
We are introducing the new Talking Play Mats (or for adults, Yoga Mats) with our new PENbud (which is a bluetooth pen that links wirelessly to blue tooth speakers) Looking at your site, I noticed the jigsaw puzzle. Love to try out this idea: have pre-cut jigsaw, say 3m by 3m into say 30 pieces. Each piece would be sound spotted but no image. Suppose the children draw the lillies in the pond and add the Stickleback fish, knewts, etc. Then you could speak out commentary, sound effects, toads, crickets, etc.
The PENbud is designed for crowed places since it connects wirelessly to powerful speakers for everyone to hear (You can also listen through the build in speakers for more privacy) but it is designed for groups.
It also doubles up as a wireless microphone the amplifies your voice on the speakers. (A few years back, we visited Taj Mahal - 100 times more beautiful than the photos. But there was a group of Chinese Tourists with a Sikh guide who also spoke Chinese. Poor chap, had a tremendous job trying to get peoples attention! With PENbud one person would hold the speaker while he gave commentary and everyone heard. The basic problem was that they lost interest and started to fool around, simply because they could not hear.)
For the EAL forum members, here is a new tool - audio walking mats! The maximum size printed would be 2.5m by 1.5m, but with jigsaw locks, this could be much bigger. We are the only ones who can make bespoke mats with your artwork, at low costs! Now we need help in ideas to further develop the kinaesthetic learning process. In my suggestion to Brian, children could draw with wipeable inks and add sound over a wide landscape. Some Yoga teachers are trying this out to have instant mood music as well as reminders of instructions.

Robene
Dear Kate Clynes and Robene Dutta
I have used your PENpal products for several years and most recently with a 6-year-old Polish girl. She missed her grandmother's garden in Poland, living in a flat in London and she said "I Want to Paint Flowers".
Every term time Friday after school we walk through Gillespie Park and the Ecology Centre with water lilies in the pond and then we spend a couple of hours painting flowers.
I have kept what I call a PENpal Passport with entries every week of what has been done and a sentence or two, in English, with PENpal. When she starts school again, next week, I hope to have the same commentary recorded by her but in Polish.
I have installed many paintings that I have done or pre-school children have done.
You are welcome to visit, the premises are open from about 10.00 to 20.00 every day. The show closes on 8 September.
