Using v7.7 (and beta 7.6.4)
The Edit command is now to slow to open the requested editor.

Currently it is painful watching the egg timer when previously the window
opened immediately.
I suspect this is a by-product of the change in v7.6

* EDIT command:

- Now the EDIT command allows changing to the proper editor window with
'edit .sch' and 'edit .brd' even in the library editor.

In comparison, v7.2.2 is fast.

The best way to experience it is to issue the commands
OPEN library;
EDIT package;
SHOW pin

Running them all, as a set, from the command line repeatedly shows the time
required.
Break them down to isolate the delays and it is the edit command that is
taking the time.

I'll shortly release a ULP that should be popular. Users will repeatedly be
exposed to this delay and feel the agony of waiting for the editor to open,
when using these latest releases.

Please restore the previous speed.

Thanks for your consideration.
Warren

Hi Warren,

I hope you're doing well. I'm afraid I can't reproduce the issue you are
describing. The EDIT package; command takes maybe close to a second for
me, I only see the busy icon for an instant.

How big of a delay are you seeing and what is your hardware like?

I have fairly strong hardware, so maybe it's not hurting me as much.

Let me know if there's anything I can do for you.

Best Regards,
Jorge Garcia

I first experienced the angst of the delay using a PC at work that is
quite capable:
Windows 7, Intel i5 @ 3.3Ghz 8GB mem.
My home PC is a little faster :
Windows 7, Intel i7 @ 3.4Ghz 8GB mem.

I have sent you an email with video to jo...@cadsoftusa.com
