California License Plates

Slated for arrival at the Eagle Mountain Family Trees website are
images of special "California personalized license plates." The images
will be in thier own designated album at our "virtual home."

The chosen personalized plate design is the version which first made
its appearance during the mid-1980's. This features a stylized
California golden sunset, "California" at the top (in red text) and
"The Golden State" at the bottom (in gold text.) All on a white
background.

While these specific personalized plates were never actually issued by
the California Department of Motor Vehicles, the EMFT staff artist has
created them, in the virtual world, especially for Eagle Mountaineers.

They will be arriving shortly. So, make certain you have a front row

The special California vanity plates have arrived at Eagle Mountain
Family Trees. Select "PHOTOS" from the menu options near the top of the
EMFT home page. Then open the "California License Plates" album.

California's "sunset" vanity plate series was in use during the 1980s.
It should be noted that the Department of Motor Vehicles never issued
any of the these displayed plates for use on automobiles. These images
are artist conceptions on a reproduction of the authentic base. There
were, at least, two different versions of this popular series. In our
depiction, the later version has elliptical mounting holes, non-labeled
tag wells and slightly different fonts.

Eagle Mountaineers: There's room for only one version. You choose which
one- "early" or "later." The version with the most votes will
continue to be displayed. Simply email your ballot, by clicking on
either "Administrator" or "Contact Me," at the EMFT home page. Be sure
to indiacate your choice. Polls close September 30, 2006. For your vote
to count, it must be time stamped (in the message header) prior to
midnight on the 30th.
