This is interesting, I think,....

There is a Victor K Auchard listed on the above webb page. Our EMHS
Spanish teacher, Robert Auchard, had a son also named Victor K
Auchard. Obviously, our Mr Auchard's son is not him, as our Victor was
born in 1951 and died in 1989. Our Spanish teacher was born in Kansas,
1917, and had two younger sisters. The youngest, Gloria, died in 2006.
She was preceded by her parents and her older siblings.

I still remember my first day* in Mr Auchard's Spanish I class at
CVUHS. I had a small memo pad in my shirt pocket and had been "forced"
to sit in the very front row, center. Mr Auchard had said something
which I thought note worthy. So I took the little "note book" from
pocket and started to write.

Without missing a beat or breath, Mr Auchard said (and I accurately
quote), "Son, if you are going to be in my class you had better get a
bigger notebook!" He then seamlessly continued on. I was massively
embarrassed and mortified. However, in retrospect, all these decades
since I am joyously rolling on the floor laughing my ass off! It is
so hilarious. :)

Sadly, in 1972, he died in a motorcycle accident. In my memory: Mr
Auchard is one of my favorite and memorable high school teachers! I
miss him, as he was quite a character.

(*This was, 1961, my Freshman year and only year there at CVUHS. Next
year, 1962, we Eagle Mountaineers had our own high school and he came
with us.)

Have a great day.
