Many people get confused with warm colors and cool colors.
Blues are always confusing because many people consider a blue to be always cool and also the think about what the name of the color is in their brains rather than where it is on the color wheel or on the spectrum. To add to confusion are the fact the different companies or colors from the same company have slightly different amounts of either violet or green in them for a color the same name. For the same reason is why I started not to use pencils with color names the names are confusing.

Cold Blues are blues that lean toward the purple side aka violet. These are Indigo, Prussian Blue, Cobalt Blue. Many of us think of this as warm because these do resemble the rich blue velvet fabrics associated with luxury and look at the Monopoly Park Place and Boardwalk or blueberry cobbler.

Be warned as I told you above that all companies and paint brands or any art media will have different amounts of green or violet in the blues of a same name and give you different results so adjust. Some even have green sides and red sides or violet sides this will make them warmer of cooler.

For example, near zero-point orange hole, any paints have zero-point cool/warm properties . In this orange color floating zone, very difficult to say, what really can make Orange cooler. Yellow? Red? White? Black? Blue? :);)

Violet blues are cool blues because they are closer to magenta, which does not exist and is therefore absolute zero, obviously. Unfortunately however, if you say cool blue around 80% or more of artists will assume you mean greenish blue, so until you convert them all it would be best to keep things unambiguous and just say greenish blue or violet blue.
