Dear Twig members and friends,

As you may know, we had a lively discussion at our November meeting about the future of the Twig and how we could rejuvenate our small group. This conversation is so important that we’ve decided to continue it in December. Instead of our usual holiday dinner downtown, we’ll be having a FESTIVE MEETING at Ongwanada starting at 6 p.m. on Thursday, December 10. Please note the new time! The Twig will supply a variety of gourmet finger foods, treats and drinks (nonalcoholic, per the rules at Ongwanada).

We will also have a special guest, Stacey Atkinson. Stacy is the member of the National Executive Council of Editors Canada responsible for local groups, including twigs such as ours in Kingston. She will talk with us about support from Editors Canada that our twig can take advantage of, and about initiatives at the national level to rebrand the association, create an interactive website, generate buzz on social media, and more.

In the festive spirit, there will be a surprise giveaway.

Those of us who are members of Editors Canada are committed to continuing the Kingston Twig. Our group has always welcomed members and nonmembers. And so whether you are a member of Editors Canada or not, we hope that you come and share your views with colleagues and friends.

Please RSVP by Tuesday, December 8 so that we know how much food to bring. If your plans change at the last minute, you are still most welcome.
