This is a kind reminder to register for the Regional Round Table happening tomorrow, organized by the Green Growth Knowledge Partnership (GGKP) under the GEF-funded, UNEP-led Global NIP Update Project (GEF ID 10785), focused on:
“National Implementation Plans: POPs Research Needs and Opportunities in Africa”

This round table will bring together Parties to the Stockholm Convention from Africa, along with leading POPs researchers, regional centres, and advanced laboratories working across the African continent. While the event emphasizes research and analytical opportunities in the African region, all countries are warmly encouraged to attend and contribute to this important exchange.
The session will provide a platform to:
- Reflect on national research needs and priorities related to POPs management and NIP implementation;
- Introduce laboratories with existing POPs research and analytical capacity in Africa region;
- Highlight regional and international technical support opportunities;
- Explore practical avenues for collaboration and knowledge exchange;
- Promote stronger integration between science and policy in chemicals and waste planning.
📌 Event format
The round table will be held online via Zoom and feature short interventions from researchers, laboratories, and Parties, followed by open discussion. Following the event, a full recording, presentation materials, and key insights will be made available on
GGKP’s platform. Selected highlights may also be shared as blog posts and articles via the GEF 10785 project website and the Green Forum.
Event will be conducted in English. Interpretation into French, Spanish and Russian will be provided.
