Toolkit to End Childhood Lead Poisoning: Tool 8 Launch

Wednesday 26 November 2025, Online, 7:00am - 8:00am EST
National legislation is one of the most powerful tools we have to reduce lead exposure. Because there is no safe level of lead, strong laws—and effective implementation—are essential to protecting children and communities from preventable harm.

UNEP invites you to join a webinar hosted by the Partnership for a Lead-Free Future on 26 November for showcasing how countries are using legal and regulatory frameworks to address major sources of lead exposure. Speakers will highlight practical approaches, lessons learned, and real-world examples of progress across sectors.

Speakers
  • Angela Bandemehr, PLF Secretariat (moderator)
  • Mihaela Paun, UNEP – Why lead regulations matter for public health and environmental protection
  • Jael Omedi, Kenya Bureau of Standards – Implementing and enforcing a lead paint standard
  • Musa Baker, icddr, Bangladesh – Policy action to prevent turmeric adulteration
  • Gabriela Medina, Ministry of Environment of Uruguay – Environmentally sound ULAB recycling policies
We hope you can join this discussion and help advance the global movement toward a lead-free future.
