When? Thursday 9/29, 7:30 PM - 10 PM

Where? The Buzz Mill, 1505 Town Creek Dr, Austin, TX

What? How do you plan to do good?

Join us this week for a discussion of how to do good with your career. We suggest spending 5-15 minutes before the event drafting an outline of your current plans to do good and any areas you’d like to improve—though don’t worry if you don’t have great plans yet!

For helpful reference, see this brief career planning summary doc.

We’ll break into smaller groups to share our current plans and provide each other feedback. As usual, we’ll spend the first half of the event on topic, while the last half of the event is socializing!

Parking? Parking at The Buzz Mill sometimes fills up, in which case we suggest parking in the large Walgreens parking lot across the street.

Food? There are two food trucks at The Buzz Mill (one is vegan).

What is EA Austin? EA Austin is the local chapter of the global Effective Altruism community. Effective altruism is a project that aims to find the best ways to help others and put them into practice. It's both a research field, which aims to identify the world’s most pressing problems and the best solutions to them, and a practical community that aims to use those findings to do good.

If you are new to EA and wish to attend this event, please read this overview of effective altruism (15 min read): http://bit.ly/introea

Feel free to reach out at effectiveal...@gmail.com or DM a host if you have questions!
