For those that may have known Doug Korthof, sadly he has lost his battle with cancer. See this link post for details:

Doug owned an EV1 and the Toyota RAV4 electric cars. He was a pioneer in EV power and his goal of going electric for transportation and home energy was relentless.
A few months ago, he received a Nissan Leaf, and was pleased with it's performance. Doug was in the movie "Who Killed The ELectric Car" and created the Yahoo site 'EVs For sale' with the intent on finally getting the auto companies to sell (rather than lease) electric vehicles. With his purchase of the Leaf, he lived to see his dream come true.
You will be missed, Doug. May you rest in peace, and may your legacy live on.
