to announce

Hi, all,

Our February meeting is this Saturday, Feb. 17th at the Rollins' hangar at Gordonsville airport, 11A.  We will not be doing pancakes this month but expect to resume the pancake breakfast in March.

This month's topic is Repairing Piper Wing Ribs - for long and short wing Pipers.

We will also be broadcasting the meeting/program via Zoom if you're quarantined or otherwise unable:

Remember, dues are due for 2024.  They're (still) $20/year.  If you pay in cash at the meeting, be sure to use an envelope with your name on it, or otherwise indicate who it's from so that our poor treasurer isn't stuck wondering "who the flying flip gave me this?"  Embarrassing, I assure you.  And frustrating, when your dues get mistakenly attributed to someone else.  I don't know that's happened in any chapter I've been a member, but it struck fear into my heart when I was treasurer of Chapter 35.

Also remember, you get out of an organization what you put into it:

  • Attend - get some quality time with other great enthusiasts, and learn something new.  My brother said "I'll never be bored, because there will always be something new to learn."
  • Attend and help out - get the above, plus some satisfaction for being helpful, and the benefits of a well-run meeting.
  • Best value -> Serve as an officer - get the above, plus max satisfaction from helping the organization  thrive and grow, and getting to know all the members.  Looks good on your resume, too.  Impresses people you meet.
  • No show - get nutt'n.

Whatever organization you choose - get plugged in and contribute!  You'll be glad you did!
