I’m forwarding the information published by CalPilots Association.  (Please consider joining that group).  You might want to read through the Alameda County Superior Court denial finding using the link near the bottom of the email below.  There is a Zoom meeting for the SCC Airport Commission Meeting tonight at 6PM.  SCC has already shut down the sale of 100LL at their airports, so it will be interesting to see how they handle this court denial.  The link for the meeting is in the forwarded email.  The Cliff Notes” summary is:

A. A Broad and Expansive Interpretation of “Approved for Aviation

Use” and “Commercially Available” Is Appropriate

B. CEH Has Not Met Its Burden to Prove that G100UL Has Been

Approved for Aviation Use and Is Commercially Available

IV. ORDERS

For the reasons set forth above and based on all the papers and evidence filed in support

of and in opposition to this motion, the Court Orders the following:

1. The motion to enforce the consent judgment is DENIED.

2. CEH’s request to modify the Consent Judgment to reduce the maximum lead level

from 0.56 grams per liter to 0.013 grams per liter is DENIED. (Consent Judgment, para 2.3.1(d).)

3. CEH’s request for attorneys’ fees and costs related to this motion is DENIED.

(Consent Judgment, para 9.1.) The Court notes, by way of dicta, that CEH’s motion was brought

with substantial justification. (Consent Judgment, para 9.1.)

4. CEH’s request to sanction and hold the Distributor Settling Defendants in

contempt is DENIED.

5. CEH’s request to reopen discovery regarding sanctions is DENIED.

Subject: Efforts to Create and Implement A Replacement Have Proceeded
Date: June 3, 2025 at 6:14:49 AM PDT
To: Mark <swan...@mac.com>

Dear California Pilots Association Members,

Over the past decade, efforts to create and implement a replacement for 100LL aviation fuel have proceeded. There are many who are attempting technical solutions, and others who believe legislation or litigation can be the answer. On Friday May 30, 2025, the Alameda County Superior Court issued a DENIAL to the Motion from the Center for Environmental Health (CEH) to Enforce and Modify a Consent Judgement from 2011 (Case #RG11600721), to require California's Airport s to sell G100UL. Enclosed is the Court Order of DENIAL for your review and consideration. There were many industry and regulatory participants who submitted briefs and documentation. The Court reviewed these details and issued its DENIAL of CEH's motion based on these facts. The order is cogent and concise as to evidence from local, state, and Federal perspectives of the process to develop unleaded aviation fuels. It will be well worth your time to read this document and share it with your friends in the extended aviation community here in California.

In addition on Tuesday, June 3rd, at 6:00PM PST, the Santa Clara County Airport Commission will have a zoom meeting (https://sccgov-org.zoom.us/j/88064280493, or via phone at 669-219-2599, meeting ID 880 6428 0493# (participant ID not required). Enclosed is a California Pilots Association Email Blast with further details. Item 4 of this meeting will hear verbal reports from George Braly, Founder of GAMI relating to G100UL unleaded fuel. And a verbal report from Micheal Luvara, A&P / IA regarding observations of actual use of G100UL on local Santa Clara County aircraft.

This will be the first public hearing since Friday's Court ruling pertinent to Unleaded Aviation fuels here in California. Given the forced implementation of unleaded aviation fuel has occurred in Santa Clara County in the last 3 years, this will be a very informative Airport Commission meeting to attend virtually.  Keep in mind on September 24, 2024 the California Legislature adopted Senate Bill 1192, which will prohibit the sale of leaded aviation fuel in California after January 1, 2031. SB 1192 was cited in the Alameda Courts ruling, as well as recent Federal legislation that pertains to unleaded aviation fuels distribution at California’s airport.

California Pilots Association will continue to monitor and keep you informed of this situation. But it is incumbent upon all members of the Aviation Community to keep your selves informed on this unleaded aviation fuel issue.

Safe travels,
