Resurfacing Reimbursement Program
Thanks to continued SMAA dialogue with the City, we helped negotiate $200 rent credits for affected tie-downs and an additional $200 for hangars affected by the recent resurfacing project. If you had an aircraft in a hangar at the time, the credit is $400.00 total reimbursement.
This goodwill gesture by the airport is intended to be move towards a more cohesive tenant and pilot friendly working environment between the city officials and the people that use the airfield. If you were directly affected by the resurfacing project causing an undue cleaning burden to you as a tie-down, or hangar user on the field, this rental credit is meant to offset the cost of those inconveniences. Not everyone on the field was affected by default as the project was mostly focused on the lower South and Eastern paddocks and taxi areas. Please be sure to do your part in responsible communication with the airport and only apply if you were directly affected. It is important that the integrity of pilots on the field be kept in high regard as we march forward to stem the closure of the airport.
