We were denied--FAA says too much residential build-up around the airport. We are searching for an alternative--a place where we can base the plane for 1-2 months. BTW, they also say they will not approve any more certification test flying out of Skypark for the same reason…

Mike,

That's too bad.
I was about to see if I could make enough room at Skypark for you, but never mind.
I have some contacts at Heber if you don't come up with anything more convenient for you.

Cheers, David

Chris,

Would you be willing to brave a 2600' x 23' runway? If so, call Mark
Pringle at West Desert. 801-766-0160 or his mobile number 801-652-5460.

Kimberly,

We're checking with Cedar Valley and Tooele first; we'd like to do some runway flights as a minimum. If we strike out there, I'll give Mark a call. 2600 is long enough, but that 23' sure looks narrow at speed.

It does, especially on landing, where it looks like a sidewalk. However,
I've test flown 3 brand new airplanes out there, though they were proven
designs I'd flown before, where yours is completely new. I like to have the
ability to float on the gear and barely off the ground a pass or two on a
long and wide runway before commiting to a first flight. Of course, once
you get past that stage with a few landings, you might think about landing
at West Desert.
