fastq-multx support of custom dual-barcodes with variable length

Hi

I was wondering of multx also works with customs barcodes (dual barcoding) whioch have variable length (5-10 nt)? They are introduced into amplicons and thus will be at the beginning of the sequence read (ie there will be no index reads). [Illumina MiSeq PE)

Should work fine.   I have learned that mcf will not trim the second barcode off of the sequence read, however, and this needs to be fixed.  IT should be a trivial source-code patch.
