Visualizing pre-reconstructed ODF with ExploreDTI

Hello,

I am interested in using ExploreDTI to visualize ODFs generated with different reconstruction programs (e.g. FSL's qboot and DSIstudio). Is it possible? what format should the odf file be? 

I am particularly interested in visualizing ODFs in at a certain xyz range, similar to Figure 2 in the recent paper "Diffusion MRI fiber Tractography of the brain" by Jeurissen et al. (Figure attached). I noticed some similar screenshots in the Image gallery on the Explore DTI website and would like some guidance on how to recreate those figures.
