The Human Brain Project Just Got BiggerOne of the biggest EU-funded initiatives, the Human Brain Project (HBP), today announced the beneficiaries of its €8.3 million competitive call for new partners. 32 organisations from 13 countries - Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Finland, France, Germany, Israel, Italy, Netherlands, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland and the UK - will join the partnership. This represents a 40% increase in the number of partners in the HBP consortium.

Bristol Clinicians to Gain Easier Access to Radiology ImagesClinicians across Bristol are set to share radiology images far more effectively and improve patient care following the implementation of the Connect and Share registry. As an extension to the Image Exchange Portal (IEP) used across every NHS trust, Connect and Share has successfully completed extensive testing at University Hospitals Bristol NHS Foundation Trust. European Research Project Aims at Early Diagnosis of Memory DisordersThe PredictND project, started by European research organisations, aims at developing and validating new procedures for the earlier diagnosis of memory disorders and for detecting individuals at high risk of developing memory disorders. Millions of Europeans who are at risk for experiencing any kind of memory loss would benefit from such a solution. The novel approach will be tested on 800 patients in four hospitals in Finland, Denmark, the Netherlands and Italy.
