how to set up email

Hey guys,


Does anyone know how to set up a gmail account on the E71 in pop3
format? I can only get it to create one in IMAP format. It says I can
change it, but when I try to do that it says it cannot be changed once
created.

Hi, new comer!
We have just created this Google group so have not many experiences on E71 else. About your question: pls try to remove mail-box gmail (Imap) on your E71 and then re-create it with the Pop3 feature (of course, your Gmail account needs to be setup availabled got mails by Pop3)

Hi Brad,

Did you also notice that the setup of the gmail account on the e71 was
automated!? I think you also used the setup assistant to set it up
(which automaticaly choose IMAP). Then you only needed to put in your
e-mail adress and the phone did the rest.

The solution to your question should be that you try it again without
using the assistant and configure it manually.
By the way, why should somebody want a pop3 account when you can have
an Imap account??? I am just curious.
