So, if I want to give an address that I know I do not want to receive
any response from, I just put anything @myname.e4ward.com?
Couldn't I just make up a completely fake email for that, or, is it
that *a...@myname.e4ward.com will be acknowledged as real, and
if I make up a purely fake address it will not be accepted?
I have noticed that registrations requiring an email address specifiy
a real address as necessary, is that what this feature is for?
Thanks!

Yes, it will cause mail which is addressed to the alias specified in
the forward to bounce.
> When would I use this feature?
When you start getting spam to a particular alias OR, in catchall
forwards, to bounce mail to any aliases other than the ones you
specifically added.
>Is it something that is used only for domain names?
It is no different for domain myname.e4ward.com than myname.com (if eg
you owned myname.com and were using it with your e4ward account). Each
domain would have it's own catchall forward.

What this means is that if mail is sent to say, x...@myname.e4ward.com
and there is no forward called x...@myname.e4ward.com, then the mail
will bounce.

If you want to give a completely fake address that you do not want to
receive a response from you can do that without an E4ward account :)

No. This feature has nothing to do with that. By real, they generally
don't mean 'not fake', they usually mean 'not disposable'.
For more info on how *bounce and *catchall work, please refer to the
following questions in the FAQ (http://help.e4ward.com/e4ward/17).
- Can I choose to bounce or accept all messages to unknown aliases?
- What is the *any/*catchall forward?
- What does *bounce mean?
1. I was asking you about using the 'bounce' feature you wrote:
"When you start getting spam to a particular alias OR, in catchall
forwards, to bounce mail to any aliases other than the ones you
specifically added."
You said I could use bounce when I start getting spam to a particular
alias.
What is the difference in that scenario between just dumping the alias
completely
and keeping the alias and using bounce?
(I get the other concept of the *any / bounce / catchall)
2. When random and generated are mentioned in the FAQ pertaining to
addresses,
how do I that? Is it just literally choosing whatever characters come
to mind? or is there
a feature for this I haven't noticed?
Thanks again,
these questions are probably pretty obvious, but I love being thorough
as I am new to
the computer world and it is such a huge world :-)
Peace,
Szos
