Stellar Garage Sale

Hi Solarites,

 

I will let Galen and Wil announce the final profit from the garage sale at our meeting tomorrow, but it was pretty dang good from what I last heard.

 

Thanks to Vivian for offering up her home as the location, and to Rita for deciding we really needed an event and grabbing people to organize one.

 

There are many kudos to give here, but I'll just mention our many volunteers and donaters who made this sale a success: Rita, Galen, Larry, Wil, Ryan, Maria, Sue, Vivian, Fariha, John C., Natalie, Bruce, Mari, John F., Vivian's neighbors, and my cat Dorian Gray, who was not too upset when I left for most of the day today.

 

And of course Fereydoun, who has expanded our coffers with the first corporate donation that fortuitously arrived today.

 

One of our agenda items for Sunday's meeting is to have a post-mortem on the garage sale. Please bring your ideas to the meeting about how we can hold our next garage sale in the spring.

Hi Solarites.

 

We ended up making $762.25 from our garage sale, and also received the $500 donation from Cypress on the same day. Not a bad way to end the year. Thanks to everyone who helped out.

 

We're still a ways from our $50K goal, but have other fundraising projects in the works. Our next garage sale will be March 20, and we are going to organize a Solar Fair at Cupertino MIddle School, and pursue further corporate donations.

 

All ideas for raising money are welcome. Donations are welcome too.

 

There is NO meeting on December 20. Merry Christmas folks, and hope to see you at our next meeting, January 3, same place and time.
