What exactly think that the mirrors represent in the book?

I feel it represents that they need to look at that at each other and fix the root problem

Mirrors represent showing who you really are. You look in the mirror think about what you have done in the past and the mirror will "show" you your real self.

The mirrors represent the realization of what the towns people are doing. The purpose of the mirrors if successful is for the people to look themselves in the mirror and hopefully want a change in life.

I agree with you Raymond, the mirrors are something where these people can see what their life has been like and how they can change themselves. They then could think of how to change themselves and create a better society.

Mirrors show your true-self and  your mistakes so you can learn from them.
