How do you think Montag felt after he killed Captain Beatty?

[John]

Montag suffers but in the end feels it is worth it, now he understands himself and likes himself better.

[Samuel]

I think that Montag felt good about killing Captain Beatty since he knew that he was going to die himself, and possibly even Faber. The Mechanical Hound would have killed them both since what they had done. I think that also Montag felt good about it since he knew it was the right thing to do to try to stop the book burning's by the firemen. Even if it caused him to die in the process, he did it for a good reason, to help and try to create change.

Montag felt very relieved after he killed Beatty because he took one step into a change of bringing books back Pg 113 "Montag shut his eyes shouted shouted and fought to get his hands at his ears to clamp and to cut away the sound" Montag released his rage when he burned his fire chief and is starting to rebel against non book reading.

I think that he felt good about killing him. Yes it probably doesn't feel right but I can guarantee he did hesitate on doing it.

I agree with you Dom, he felt that he got a huge weight of his his shoulders and that he could move on in the rebellion, this is proved on 113-114

I agree with you Johnny, I think that because he killed him, he now feels good about it and realizes fully what there society is like and how they have been restricted by the government all along. He feels that by doing this he can try and get back into a normal society by killing the firemen so then they can't burn books anymore.
