e2guardian with squid advantages?

Hello guys.

Just wondering, I have seen that some users setup e2guardian with squid.

I have a doubt, because e2gurdian and work alone without squid or squidguard.

What is the advantages working in conjunction with squid and without squid?

I'm learning E2guardian and looks a great software.

Hi Pheriko,

those two tools have different goals:

- e2guardian : filters (and blocks) access to websites

- squid : caches content downloaded from websites

So using squid could potentially speed things up for sites that you frequent?

Yes, but with sslmitm enabled for https

There is also users authentication as limitation with e2g only, with user/password I mean
