Hi all,
I installed e2guardian on my lab network on ubuntu server 22.04.
I remember that in dansguardian, into bannedsitelist, I blocked all site with the parameter '**' and into file exceptionsitelist add only sites (with wildcards) I want open (for examples all microsoftw sites for windows updates).

In e2guardian the parameter '**' into bannedsitelist doesn't seem to work.

Any suggestion for me?

Thanks a lot

Giovanni,

Did you figure out how to block all sites? I finally got e2guardian working and I can add specific sites to bannedsitelist and it works but a wildcard for everything would be better so that I only have to maintain a white list.

Hi,  From v5.0 blanket block is set in the group file story board and not by '*' in list files see blanket block in https://github.com/e2guardian/e2guardian/blob/v5.3/configs/examplef1.story.in

Thanks. I ran across the comment in the bannedsitlist file.

# NOTE: From v5 Blanket blocks are now implemented using Storyboarding
# WARNING: Old style Blanket blocks in this file will be silently ignored

I just assumed it had something to do with the .story files and then ran across this in the examplef1.story.

# To create blanket block for http (and MITM https)
# uncomment next line and one condition line.

This was really confusing as a new user. There is no mention of Storyboarding or these .story files in the wiki.
