Here is a quote that feels very much like the W.H. Murray/Goethe quote
I have shared here before:

"I learned this, at least, by my experiment: that if one advances
confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavors to live the
life which he has imagined, he will meet with a success unexpected in
common hours. He will put some things behind, will pass an invisible
boundary; new, universal, and more liberal laws will begin to
establish themselves around and within him; or the old laws be
expanded, and interpreted in his favor in a more liberal sense, and he
will live with the license of a higher order of beings. In proportion
as he simplifies his life, the laws of the universe will appear less
complex, and solitude will not be solitude, nor poverty poverty, nor
weakness weakness. If you have built castles in the air, your work
need not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the
foundations under them."

"With Humans it's what's here (he points to his heart) that makes the
difference. If you don't have it in the heart, nothing you make will
make a difference." ~~Bernard Leach~~ (As told to Dean Schwarz)

Thanks!

Here is the W.H. Murray quote which borrows from Thoreau. Did you
know that Thoreau translated the first Buddhist Sutra into English?
The Lotus from French into Engish.

"Until one is committed, there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back--
Concerning all acts of initiative (and creation), there is one
elementary truth that ignorance of which kills countless ideas and
splendid plans: that the moment one definitely commits oneself, then
Providence moves too. All sorts of things occur to help one that would
never otherwise have occurred. A whole stream of events issues from
the decision, raising in one's favor all manner of unforeseen
incidents and meetings and material assistance, which no man could
have dreamed would have come his way. Whatever you can do, or dream
you can do, begin it. Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it.
Begin it now."

Lee, isn't the Murray quote below almost like the one you used to have after
your signature, attributed to Goethe?

Yes, but Goetha scholars say they cannot find any quote like this attributed too Geothe.    "I am guessing Murry adapted the whole quote from Thoreau, but didn't remember where it came from.  Just from memory, so transformed.
