The Buddha taught universal principles that are not hindered by dogma or ideology. You can find them in mystical aspects of other traditions, like the work of Meister Echart or in many perennial/indigenous traditions. This is possible because these are universal principles and can be experienced by examining one's own mind or, the manifestation of our mind on the environment.
