Answer to Question 1. The explanation is given that one of the
greatest qualities that Mohse had, the way that G-d Himself describes
in the Torah, is "he was humbled before any person on earth." Because
Moshe knew all the greatness he attained, because he was gifted and
granted by G-d, to carry out the most difficult mission as the first
leader of the Jewish people. Therefore, all his accomplishments and
all his greatness, he felt that it was given to him and was not his.
Moshe thought that anyone else with the same gifts could do even
better than he did. That gave him the feeling of real humility, not
just to act humble. The Torah put a small alef to indicate that his
humility was absolute, and not taking any credit for himself.
