"THRIVING With Some of Our Second Family" - Kent Ross (Ohio)

     God blessed Cheryl and me with two different families that only barely over-lapped, and then have continued some with us to this day.

     Our first family was blessed with three wonderful sons. I have to keep saying that because sooner or later they'll be choosing our nursing home or care facility.

     Then with Zachary getting involved with this sort of black-ish teenager at our church in Georgia, named by her family "Pinky", we were hooked. She has become, in some ways, the daughter we never had, and we love her to pieces. As a result, we became involved with six ... no. seven of her siblings. One of my colleagues once asked me what I thought about their relationship. I told him, "You know, we never asked about that as we had both been praying for our boys to marry good, Christian girls, and forgot to ask about their color."

It all has changed our lives, and there has been both "ups and downs," but I could never have not wanted any of it. God directs and God blesses.
