"THRIVING from Pennellwood to the U.P." - Kent Ross (Ohio)

When I moved to Pennellwood, I found that the State Conf. supported summer youth trips to the L'Anse church in the Upper Peninsula, and later we added another VBS at the church in Champion. In L'Anse the pastors included Pastors Dale Ward, Cecil Smead and Jim Rancontre, and when Champion opening it was led by Mary Vadnais.

It was a great time for developing relationship between the pastors who mentored the youth teams, and the churches. These photos represent just one of these trips:

Sadly neither of those churches is still alive, but many of the young people who went and some up there have stayed with the Faith.

We slept in tents on the shore of Lake Superior, and some ladies from the lower peninsula.
