How to mic a 1400 person marching band

The venue is an indoor stadium, the PA is stacked, the crowd is 70k.
You have a house band (on sideline), marching band on the field, choir
in seats and a pop star on the 50 yard line. Oh, and 4 monitors at the
50 yard line for the field. The question is. How do you time align it?
Don't forget the band on the field is constantly moving.

I need a detailed description of your technique on this one Ed. I'd
like to post it on the forums and blog. I know we discussed the
technique of using "mix minus" approach. Your description of the
technique complete with your approach to phase and time correction
would be invaluable to the curriculum text.
