Hi,

I'm going to install e-prime 1.1 and after filling in the User Name,
Institution and Serial number I'm getting following error message:

"Your system requires yout to have a hardware copy protection key.

A hardware key was found on your system, but it does not have the
proper
licensing information. If you are upgrading, please contact PST for
forther information.

Would you like to try the key again?"

Does anybody know what to do in this case?

Thanks for your help!

Regards
Kathrin

It sounds like you should contact PST.
When installing e-prime you need to insert a hardware key - new ones
look like little USB drives. If you don't have one of these, or if
the one you have is for a different license, you'll need to get in
touch with PST.

Kathrin,

Hmm, if you have a license for EP1, why would you install 1.1, instead
of 1.2 (specifically, 1.2.1.847, downloadable from the PST web site)?
And if you do *not* have a license for EP1 (e.g., you have only a
license for EP2), then you cannot run any version of EP1 at all.

Assuming that you have the lock key to EP1, you have to try all kinds
of combinations to get it installed.  For example, try installing with
the lock key pushed in before you start the installation. Try pushing
it in when it requires you to do so.  Try reinstalling the lock-key
driver.  You might have to try all these kinds of junks in order to
get it installed.  Sorry for the useless advice.  It has been a long
time since I used the EP1.

Hi E-prime users,

I would like to install eprime 2.0 on my XP system.
during the installation I came across the following error.

"Unable to install C:\WINDOWS\system32\setup\...\akshhl.inf file. Windows Error:5, Error code:4209015"

Message "HASP.......Run time installation"

Kindly provide your comments about why this is happening?

Thanking you in anticipation

Yes,
I do had e-prime 2.0 installed previously.
Since my previous installation showed "System in violation of license agreement even with the presence of dongle (HASP key) in the appropriate USB port.
With the use of installation CD, I had de-installed and attempting to re-install the same.
The major errors while reinstalling were inability to install drivers.
What is the appropriate way to find out why the below mesage pops in.

"Unable to install C:\WINDOWS\system32\setup\...\
akshhl.inf file. Windows Error:5, Error code:4209015"

Do you have any other versions of e-prime installed on your machine or recently removed prior version(s)? There may be some "residue" from prior versions creating conflicts during the installation. Have you tried a sweep for previous versions and checked subdirectories for any lingering files?

Another possible issue might be with the HASP drivers. Do you have the driver specific to v2.0? I am not on my workstation that has e-prime so I can't say if this for sure. Perhaps someone else can comment? Even though the drivers should be included in the installation package. If not, you can find a list of drivers are located on the e-prime knowledge base/downloads.

Good luck!
