Hey everyone,

I've recently designed a task, and placed it in a local folder on our lab's computer to be accessed by RAs during sessions. However, when my RAs go to launch the task, they receive the following error:

This doesn't occur for me or members of the lab. I'm wondering if this is related to an eprime problem, or more so of a security permissions problem with our system? Any information is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Richard,

First, could you please type in the text of your error message? The
image of the error message is just not showing up, so I am working
blindly here.

Just taking a guess (because I cannot see the error message), perhaps
your RAs log in using Windows accounts that simply do not have
permission to use the files in your E-Prime experiment folder. This
would be a general Windows issue, not E-Prime, and you would want to
take this up with your local IT staff.

BTW, I hope that you do not host your experiment on a shared network
drive, as that could incur additional timing delays. Best to always
host your experiment program & support files on each local subject
running station (I have to keep reminding labs here about that).

Best,

Hey David,

Thanks for the response. I was actually able to work through this. But in case anyone else encounters a similar issue, I'd like to explain the situation and what I did.

I apologize, the error message was the following:

"The following runtime error occurred:

Can not open data file. Check security permissions.

Line: 16785
Error Number: 75

(Information placed on clipboard for copy/paste access)"

I had initially designed the task on a shared drive, but exported it to a local machine for running. However, I was still receiving the error. I had IT grant administrator privileges to one of our RAs, and we still continued to have the error pop-up. I ended up having to remove the task from the local machine. I then re-copied the task over to the local machine and it seems to have solved the issue. So potentially it was just a transfer error.
