Hi,
I set my e-prime sound files to have 44.1kHz sampling rate and 16 bit. After changing all the wav files that I have to have those measurements, I had one wav file in my stimuli that just wouldn't play. The error message I got was "DATA TOO LARGE FOR BUFFER." Since that one file is the only one that is much bigger than all the rest, even though they are all 6 seconds, I am guessing that it can't play because it is too big.
Here's what I think happened: When I changed the sampling rate in e-prime to 44.1kHz and the bit to 16, I changed all the audio files to have the same sampling rate and bit to those settings as well. However, because that one wav file started off with a much smaller sampling rate (something like 11kHz) than the others, when I changed its sampling rate to 44.1kHz, it became an enormous file.
I tried searching for a solution online to reduce the size of the file but I only came across suggestions that involve changing the sampling rate and bit, which I don't think I can do with those e-prime settings.
Can anyone help me solve this problem? Is there a way that e-prime can read wav files of different sampling rates or bit? Alternatively, does anyone know how to reduce the file size without changing any of those parameters?
Thanks!
