Hi,

In Indian, we are yet to reach the mature stage of e-governance.  In the current state of affairs we need to find ways in which we can bring participation/involvement in the mind of citizens .We should make them realize the need for participation. There should be wide publicity in newspapers, T V, online media e.t.c for inviting participation. We should use simple techniques to solicit participation. Citizen’s comments and feedbacks should be appreciated and valued. Should give importance to websites and the information they provide. This can increase public trust. The following techniques can ensure successful citizen participation.

  • ·         We should use all kind of modern internet tools for gathering feedbacks and comments from citizens.
  • ·         We should ensure participation of people who will immediately use the online services.
  • ·         Before the online service is launched we should ensure process change and reorganization.
  • ·         Combine e-government with legal reform efforts
  • ·         Use of CSCs ( Common service centers)

Thanks & Regards,

Dear Sir,

Great Idea!

I do agree with the same, and to just add to it. We need to have formal frame work in place instead of efforts of few people working on e-governance issues here and there in Government, the e-governance have to be on the agenda of Government as priority.

We have to come out from pilot syndrome and shall really implement the pilots at large scale.

With regards,

Mukesh Hajela
